For flutter echo countermeasure: SHIZUKA Stillness Panel (sound absorbing / articulate panel )
Hello, all of you. This is Mr.I of Shizuka Co.,Ltd.
This time I would like to talk about “Flutter echoes (standing waves)”.
Flutter echo is a phenomenon in which sound repeatedly reflects between parallel planes. In familiar places such as a bath, a gymnasium, a tunnel, etc., when you tap your hands in an eccentric closed space, the sound echoes and it will not decay for long time. In addition, the reflected sounds may interfere with each other, sometimes causing more harsh sounds. Those familiar with Japanese temples and shrines may be familiar, but “Nakiryu (Roaring Dragon)” of Nikko Toshogu (a famous shrine in Japan) is also a phenomenon caused by this flutter echo.
Flutter echo becomes a very disturbing existence in making an audio environment. When a flutter echo occurs, the sound of the speaker will not spread throughout the room. Furthermore, as reflected sounds become cloudy, and when you raise the volume of the speaker, it makes you feel too loud. At such time, Japanese proverb says “There is hundreds of dollars and no interest.”
Therefore, we would like to recommend “SHIZUKA Stillness Panel (SSP)” articulating panel developed using our soundproofing technology. SSP has a uniform sound absorption coefficient from midrange to high range, it is difficult to become unstable while suppressing echo, and is possible to reproduce a stable sound. By placing this panel in a place where standing waves are likely to occur like the corner of the room or the back of the monitor, moderate deadening (sound absorbing effect) is applied and an ideal acoustic space can be realized.
Here are the voices of professional artists and creators and the concrete feeling of use. However, on the website there are only Japanese sentences now, so I will go on this blog for translations here in the near future.
