I usually use the recording studio for recording and I am accustomed to that sound. So, I get little nervousness unless the room has been absorbed.
The audio room at home was not absorbing at all, and the ceiling was also high, the live sound was a troublesome thing. But trying to temporarily absorb the sound with something like curtains is not interesting at all. When the dynamic range narrows down, music is not interesting more than anything.
The manner of listening to the monitor and the manner of listening to the audio are slightly different, but I wanted both of them. When I was thinking like that, I heard the rumors of “SHIZUKA Stillness Panel” .
“SHIZUKA Stillness Panel” is basically used putting it behind the speaker, so I set the panel thinking that it may not cover my large speaker, and there might be less effect without covering the entire wall.
First, I listen to the sound in the usual state. As usual live sounding, the feeling that instruments do not fly straight. Next, when I set “SHIZUKA Stillness Panel” and listened to it, so much change that it made me unintentionally smiling. This is a level that anyone can understand immediately.
There became no useless incidental sound, the granularity of each instrument was clearly heard, the feeling that the whole room was controlled. It was just realized, the manner of listening to the monitor and the manner of listening to the audio, just by setting the panel behind.
I do not know how effective it is to absorb sound throughout the room and construct it at a high price with other measures. Although, I was surprised honestly that the effect of the room was exactly as it was, and the excellent effect was produced with just this 2 panels.
I wanted to introduce it to the recording studio.
There is a DTM workshop in the corner of the audio room, and I tried setting “SHIZUKA Stillness Panel” there. The sound of the room has changed, and the focus has matched further. The sound of powered speakers for work has also been improved.
I would like to recommend this to the people involved in the music, and at the same time I recommend it to all the audio fans.
